Announcing

It’s a real delight to announce, subject to the usual checks, the appointment of Bea Reid to the staff team at St Peter’s & St Paul’s. We’re full of thankfulness to God for His leading, timing and detail following a pause in our search, prior to the completion of construction and the establishment of the core staff and large volunteer team to serve the vision of the Annexe and realisation of Next Door Hextable.

Bea’s character, gifting and hunger shone through in the recruitment process, and we note our thankfulness to Mark Leveson of Cribs and Cheryl Trice of our diocesan team for their input and support in this process also.

In Bea’s own words: “I’m really excited to be joining you all soon! I’m originally from Southend-On-Sea in Essex where I grew up in church and went to various camps and weekends away. When I was a teenager I began to start helping out with the children’s work, and later the youth work in the church and began to find a real passion for meeting with children and young people and encouraging them in their lives and their faith, and to have lots of fun whilst doing it! After I finished my A-Levels I took part in the New Wine Discipleship Year which helped me to further realise how God was calling me to use my gifts and my passion and served in a church in Wolverhampton working with children and youth whilst I began studying for my degree in Theology, Ministry and Mission at St Mellitus College. I am now finishing that degree in London, and am so excited for this next season of adventure! I can’t wait to get to know all of you.

When I’m not working with children and youth, you can usually find me writing away in coffee shops, reading a book, getting creative in some way or enjoying being outdoors with friends.”

Mrs Sue Haward writes: “Bea shone through in our recruitment process with a delightful attitude of wanting to serve and be part of God's bigger picture in the lives of our children, families and young people. She’s got a lovely combination of gifting and graft.“

Pray for all of the logistics and practical next steps including accommodation in the parish ideally. The details for Bea’s summer start date are to be confirmed. Together we anticipate growing well together in life, ministry and service of this area in the months and years to come.
